Here at Headon Forest Animal Hospital, we are active in our community and surrounding areas. We make regular contributions to the Ontario Veterinary College Pet Trust Fund. Headon Forest Animal Hospital has also provided gift baskets for various organizations in the community, including Carpenter House Hospice and Kilbride Public School. One program we are proud to support is the student Co-op program offered by local high schools. Through this program, high school students spend time at the clinic during the semester to work in and learn more about life in the veterinary practice. Our team contributed and currently participates in the following fundraising and outreach events:
Veterinary Outreach Program
In April 2017, members of the Headon Forest team participated in the Veterinary Outreach Program in Toronto. The Mission Veterinary Care program began in 2003, providing preventative health care to animals of the homeless at the Ottawa Mission, and is now also operating in Hamilton, Kitchener-Waterloo, and Toronto, ON. Operating from CVO (College of Veterinarians of Ontario) licensed companion animal mobiles and staffed with volunteers, animals are examined, vaccinated, treated for internal and external parasites, and owners receive advice on nutrition, dental care, behaviour, and the benefits of sterilization.

Farley Foundation
Each year, our team happily helps raise money for the Farley Foundation. We have offered discount nail trims, given baths for Farley, and participated in the Bike for Farley. The Farley Foundation assists those who are struggling financially to pay for veterinary care for their pets. This includes pet owners who cannot afford medical care for their sick or injured pet and who fall into a specific category of assistance (e.g. those receiving CPP disability).

OSPCA Cupcake Day
On February 27th, 2023 we took part in Cupcake Day for the OSPCA and had so much fun! Every year, the OSPCA organizes an event to encourage pet lovers and professionals to raise money for the OSPCA by having bake sales. This year, our team made our own cupcakes and reached out to other vendors to donate cupcakes as well. We even had pupakes donated by PupperCakeBakeHouse in Waterdown for all of the dogs, as they deserved cupcakes too! Thanks to everyone's donations and hard work, we were able to raise over $2000 for the OSPCA.
